ALDERSHOT Town’s Hampshire Senior Cup third-round tie against AFC Portchester will be played at the Wicor Recreation Ground on Tuesday, December 8.

Managed by former Arsenal and England midfielder Graham Rix, Portchester are currently fourth in the Sydenhams League (Wessex) Premier Division, with just one defeat in 12 games. The Wicor Rec is on Cranleigh Road in Fareham (PO16 9DT).

Kick-off is 7.45pm, with admission £6 for adults and £3 concessions, with U18s admitted free.

The 15th annual Shots Carol Service will be at Holy Trinity Church on Thursday, December 17, starting at 7.30pm.

Hosted by Aldershot Town chaplains Mike Pusey and George Newton at the church on the junction of Windsor Way and Victoria Road, this popular event is attended by players, management and directors.

As well as carol-singing, with accompaniment from the Alder Valley Brass Ensemble, there will be an interview with one particularly interesting and loyal Shots fan – identity to be revealed.

Free refreshments, including cask ale, mulled wine, tea and coffee, sausage rolls and mince pies, will follow the service, along with a collection in aid of local charities Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and The Source.

Supporters are encouraged to wear club colours and bring their best singing voice for what is always one of the most successful evenings in the club’s calendar.
