BENTLEY A beat Fleet A 9-1 to keep up the pressure on Aldershot Table Tennis League Division One leaders Central A.

Micky Lang and Graham Diplock were unbeaten on the night and Trevor Spraggs supported with a double.

Central A responded by whitewashing Frimley A 10-0, with Phil Snelson, Peter Millard and Paul Baker taking all the points on offer.

Central lead by 13 points, but local rivals Bentley have a game in hand.

Nick Mills and Dave Halfpenny were both undefeated as Ash A beat their B clubmates 7-3.

In Division Two, Ash C and Frimley B drew 5-5. Frank Winnard was unbeaten for Ash and Bob Walker and David MacKinnon won two each for Frimley.

Meanwhile, Frimley C recorded a much-needed 8-2 win over Tennis E. Hilary Greig and Gary Nicholson claimed maximums and Vasco Correia backed them up with a brace.

Braybrooke A and Bentley B shared the points. Yizhong Wei won all three for Braybrooke, while Robin Street and Paul Farrant scored doubles for Bentley.

Crawley Ridge B squeezed past Cody C 6-4 to keep a decent lead at the top of Division Three. David Skellern was undefeated for Crawley Ridge and Phil Garrett won twice, as did Bruce McPherson for Cody.

Crawley Ridge A were grateful to reserve player Yuriy Schulzhenko whose full house helped them to a draw with Cody D. Kim Phillips won two for Cody.

Frimley D and Ash E also split the points. Terry French was unbeaten for Ash and team-mate Les Knight won two. Ted Cornell took two wins for Frimley.

Tennis H appear to have unearthed another gem of a young player as 13-year-old Joe Sparkes made his debut for the Division Four team. He was unbeaten in an 8-2 victory against Ash G, Michel Wolfe and John Page supporting with two wins apiece.

However, Frimley F remain promotion favourites after beating Cody F 8-2. Ted Cornell secured another maximum and Steve Lawlor and Gary Smith won two each, both succumbing to Norrie Short of Cody.

Crawley Ridge C are well clear at the top after whitewashing Tennis J. Richard Hornby, Mark Stephenson and Yuriy Schulzhenko shared the points.

Frimley E eased past Ash F 7-3, although Graham Thomas was the star player with a full house for the losers. Steve Chapman, Maureen Bromley and Ramesh Vasudevamurthy all won twice for Frimley.
