A TEENAGE sailor from Tilford has booked her place at this year’s Cadet World Championships in Poland.

Phoebe Bradshaw, who sails at Frensham Pond, sealed her place alongside crewmate Rhona Enkel after a series of qualifiers.

Sixteen-year-old Bradshaw and Enkel competed in Essex, Weymouth and Cambridge to earn their place in the British team for the world championships at Krynica Morska from July 22 to August 4.

From these events, totalling 14 races, the seven highest-placed sailors were awarded a place on the British team.

The consistency of Bradshaw, a Year 11 pupil at The Royal School in Hindhead, and Enkel in securing fourth place or better in nine out of the 14 races ensured they qualified in second place for the championships in Poland.

A spokesman for the British team said: “They have all worked hard for their places and we wish them all well in Poland this summer at the worlds where the competition will no doubt be as tough as ever.”
