JUNIOR members of Alton RFC competed in the tenth anniversary edition of the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup, hosted by London Irish at Henley RFC on Sunday.
Since being launched during the 2008-09 season, the nationwide grassroots rugby event has seen more than 70,000 youngsters take part.
Alton Under-11s (pictured) were one of more than 30 U11 and U12 teams in action at Henley and got the chance to strut their stuff in front of a host of London Irish players, including academy star Tom Parton.
The Alton side missed out on the chance to attend next May’s Aviva Premiership Final at Twickenham, but did themselves proud with a display of skill and effort.
Teams from across the country are competing at various festivals hosted by the 12 Aviva Premiership clubs this season, all chasing the prize of a day out at Twickenham next May.
The Alton juniors did at least get the chance to rub shoulders with rugby’s elite.
