CENTRAL A, the unbeaten Aldershot Table Tennis League Division One leaders, defeated Tennis B 8-2 last week, with Phil Snelson picking up a full house.

Team-mates Paul Baker and Peter Millard won two each, both losing to Paul Shakespeare of Tennis.

Central B overcame Frimley A 9-1, with Martin Townshend, Ramesh Bhalla and Andy Appleby winning all the singles.

Eliot Tilley, Paul Myers and Rod Kay all won twice as Tennis A saw off Ash B 7-3. Ash player James Wyncoll also claimed two wins.

Bentley A, 15 points behind Central A with a game in hand, whitewashed Tennis C 10-0, thanks to the efforts of Micky Lang, Graham Diplock and Crispian Knight.

Division Two continues to be exceptionally tight. Ash C moved to the top of the table with a 7-3 victory over Braybrooke A. Ash players Nigel Tustin, Chris Cater and Terry French all won twice, as did Braybrooke’s Mick Rumbold.

Cody A and Frimley B, Ash’s nearest rivals, split the points. Peter Anthony secured a maximum for Cody and the Frimley duo of David MacKinnon and John Eade won two apiece.

In such a close division, Cody B’s 9-1 thrashing of Frimley C was a significant result. Dave Stenning and Paul Mission were unbeaten, with Duncan Sibbick winning twice.

Crawley Ridge B maintained their promotion push in Division Three with an emphatic 9-1 win over their A team. Phil Garrett and David Skellern won all their matches and Steve Bridle supported with two.

David Thomas and John Harvey were both unbeaten as Cody C chalked up an excellent 8-2 victory over a strong Ash D team.

Frimley D beat Fleet B 7-3, with a treble for Brian Greenberg and two from Tony Harrison. Andrew Blunden won twice for Fleet.

Cody D were also 7-3 victors, against Ash E, with Kim Phillips recording a hat-trick. John Sheehy won twice, as did Les Knight for Ash.

In Division Four, Cody F celebrated their first victory of the season – a 6-4 success against Ash F. Graham Thomas was unbeaten for the losers, but doubles by Norrie Short and Nigel Willshire edged it for Cody.

Braybrooke B had a setback in their promotion push, losing 6-4 to Frimley E. Ramesh Vasudevamurthy claimed a maximum for Frimley, supported by Charles Rhodes’ double. Kenny Duarte won two for Braybrooke.

Fleet C beat a depleted Ash G 7-3. Alan Yeung was unbeaten, while Ray Mears took two for Ash.
