WITLEY residents have been asked to call 999 if they spot any anti-social gatherings on the green next to Chichester Hall on the Petworth Road.

Chichester Hall management committee issued the appeal following anti-social behaviour by teenagers in which a large number of bottles were broken and trodden into the playground and car park.

“We would like to keep this lovely area for all to enjoy,” a management committee spokesman said.

The land is owned by Witley Parish Council and residents joined parish councillors and committee members to clear up the broken glass and make the playground safe.

Surrey Police has advised anyone witnessing anti-social behaviour to call 999 so officers can attend to break up any anti-social gatherings, or to call 101 to report any disturbances.
