HAMPSHIRE Police have released an efit of a man wanted following an attempted robbery of a 77-year-old woman in Grayshott.

The man tried to grab a necklace from around the woman’s neck outside the shops in the middle of Headley Road on Friday, October 14, at around 1.30pm. It failed to come off and the woman told the man to leave her alone. He then walked off with a friend.

He is described as white, in his early 30s, 5ft 10inches tall and well built. His hair is said to be grubby and jet black. He had very dark eyes, an oval face and light stubble and he spoke with what is described as an Eastern European accent. At the time he was wearing scruffy builder-type clothes and a black hoody with a zip.

The woman was left with pain in her neck from the incident.

“It happened in a busy street and this kind of incident is very unusual in Grayshott,” a police spokesman said. “We would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who thinks they recognise the man from the efit.’
