2022 has certainly been a year of change – we have been able to meet with family and friends after being kept apart for so long because of Covid, writes Haslemere mayor Councillor Jacquie Keen.

For me, as mayor, it has been a joy to visit so many volunteers and local events. In May we all celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee across the nation, and sadly a few weeks later we mourned her passing and welcomed our new King. We will be forever grateful for her extraordinary sense of duty.

We all know that unfortunately there are many vulnerable members of the community struggling who need our support. The most important task for me is to highlight these problems and ask residents to look out for their neighbours in these hard times.

Going into Christmas and the new year, may I wish you all good health and happiness for better times ahead.

Together we all look forward to a brighter future.
