Appeal for witnesses after incident in Haslemere

SURREY POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car and a family had a near miss as they were crossing the road in Haslemere on April 18.

Between 11.15am and 11.30am the victim was crossing the High Street towards The Swan Inn with their family when a silver Volkswagen Golf appeared to accelerate towards them. The male driver then got out of his vehicle and proceeded to shout at the family, assaulting the victim and their three-year-old child.

The suspect has been described as a White male aged in his 40’s, 6ft tall, well-built and wearing a light-coloured top. He had a close shave and greying hair.
