FERNHURST resident Max Glover-West has completed a marathon trek in aid of Help for Heroes. The 22 year old undertook a gruelling 58-mile walk from Buckingham Palace to Goodwood, leaving London at 3pm, and arriving at Goodwood House at 10.20am the following morning.
He was weighed down by a 40-pound military Bergen rucksack and walked alone.
Mr Glover-West is currently in the final application stages of getting into Sandhurst Military Academy, and has ambitions to progress as a career serving officer.
Max (pictured) was inspired to fundraise for Help for Heroes because he believes everyone who is “wounded, injured and sick” should be supported.
“I just want to raise money for what I think is a great cause, and at some point in the future I might need Help for Heroes’ assistance for myself,” he said. “When it is tough you need to remember why you are doing it, and not give up - just keep going.”
