HASLEMERE Bookshop had a double celebration on Saturday, October 5.

Not only was it national bookshop day but also the shop’s fifth birthday.

Customers enjoyed cake, courtesy of Clare’s Cakes, animal drawings by Arthur Robins, story-time by local author and illustrator Jonty Howley, competitions, goodie bags for the children, and music from Simon Ayers.

Bookshop manager Emily Adsett-Raggett said: “What a great day we had. A massive thank you to all of our wonderful customers and friends for supporting us through another year - we wouldn’t be here without you.”

The event also raised £220 for The Hunter Centre.
