Chiddingfold resident Ted Hobbs has thanked everyone who supported his garden open day.

The day raised £1,556.18, which will be split between St Mary’s Church, Chiddingfold, and Macmillan Cancer Support, Midhurst.

A raffle was held for Macmillan, and a donation was given to the British Red Cross Ukraine appeal.

The popular open day featured Ted’s garden railway, and the entrance fee included tea and cake.

Ted said: “The sun came out, the people came out and the railway worked. Thank you to the kind ladies who donated all the lovely cakes. Thanks also to Sophie, who helped with the garden.”
