A FORMER pet shop owner who claimed his conviction for downloading child porn should be overturned – because police failed to give him a glass of water in custody – had his complaints thrown out by top judges.
Colin Raymond Hogan, of Camden Road, Gillingham, in Kent, received a community sentence, with 18 months of supervision, after admitting four charges of possessing indecent images of children, at Guildford Crown Court, in February.
The 63-year-old, who was the former owner of Pets Worth, in Wey Hill, Haslemere, and who now lives in Gillingham, was prosecuted after offending images of teenagers were discovered on his computer, Mr Justice Nicol told London's Appeal Court.
