FERNHURST Choral Society breaks new ground this weekend, with a night of jazz and swing, accompanied by the Matt Robinson Jazz Trio.

The concert on Saturday, November 18, is in aid of Haslemere’s Hunter Centre, which supports those living with dementia.

‘A Little Jazz Mass’, is a jazz interpretation of the Latin Mass, the choir will also sing classic American songs including Cole Porter’s Every Time We Say Goodbye’, George and Ira Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm and Harold Arden and Yip Harburg’s Over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz.

Musical director and conductor Tim Ravalde said, “We’re really looking forward to this concert. It’s a departure from our usual repertoire and we’re enjoying getting to know something a bit different.”
