THE fundraising efforts of Headley Bowling Club have benefitted a second charity this summer - the Haslemere Alzheimer’s Day Centre.
Each year Headley Bowling Club holds a fun bowling day to raise money for good causes. Attended by 50 club members, many wearing fancy dress, a variety of events helped to raise £1,125 this year.
Previously, the village’s Badgerswood Surgery Patient Participation Group had been presented with a donation of £400. At a recent club practice afternoon,
Elaine Clement, day support manager from Haslemere Alzheimer’s Day Centre, was presented with a cheque for the remaining £725.
Presenting the funds, club president Don Stephens said that the members were “delighted” to once again be able to support the day centre to help its “very valuable work”.
Elaine thanked the club for its “caring generosity” and gave the members an outline of the activities of the centre.
