SCHOOLS across the area pulled out all the stops as they celebrated World Book Day.

Children and adults came dressed as their favourite fictional characters, with plenty of Mary Poppins’ and Harry Potters taking over the schools.

Author and storyteller Daniel Morden led a workshop at King Edward’s Witley, where pupils took part in a Stop and Read for ten minutes.

Sister school Barrow Hills, Witley, hosted an entire World Book Week, with author visit, bedtime stories with hot chocolate, literary Cluedo – as well as the opportunity to come to school dressed as your favourite literary character.

Pupils of The Royal Junior School, Haslemere, enjoyed a free eco book swap, where they brought in a book from home and swapped it for another book for free.
