THERE have been more celebrations at St Ives School in Haslemere, which was ‘highly commended’ in the Prep School of the Year category at the Independent Schools Awards before Christmas.

The school has now announced it is going to become fully co-educational from September 2020.

St Ives started accepting boys in the pre-prep department in 2017 and the move was so popular with parents that the board of governors decided to take boys all the way through until Year 6.

This allows the boys who are currently at the school to continue at St Ives for all of their primary education.

In December, the school received its Prep School of the Year honour and in February was shortlisted for Prep School of the Year at the TES Awards.

Headteacher Kay Goldsworthy said: “Having had an extremely successful 2018, with pupil numbers increasing in every year group and a growing number of boys in the pre-prep and nursery, it feels like the right time to become fully co-educational.”
