OOH la la! Pupils in years three to six at Grayswood Primary School have enjoyed all things French.

There was Café Grayswood, where Year 8 boys from Lanesborough School, Guildford, acted as French-speaking waiters and pupils ordered brioche, croissants and juice.

Haslemere Twinning Association helped students learn about the geography of France and described their twin town of Bernay.

As well as doing lotto, number bingo and a clothes race in French, pupils watched a play acting out traditional folk tales in French.

Key Stage 2 and Year 3 teacher Juliet Clark, who is French co-ordinator at Grayswood, said: “We think it is really important the children are confident to speak and use the French they learn. This gave them lots of opportunities, while having fun.”
