SCHOOLS in and around Haslemere pulled out all the stops to ensure World Book Day was the best yet.

Celebrated worldwide on March 8, Royal Junior School pupils enjoyed a real treat when actor Hugh Bonneville – star of Hollywood blockbuster Paddington and hit sequel Paddington 2 – dropped in to give a special reading from The Paddington Treasury.

Mr Bonneville also told students more about author Michael Bond, a former Haslemere resident, and how Paddington came to be written.
