The Leisure Society will play for Grayshott Folk Club at Grayshott Village Hall on April 22 at 7.30pm.

The band were founded in 2006 by Burton-on-Trent exiles Nick Hemming and Christian Hardy, who became flatmates in London before starting to write and record songs together. Their third founder member is violinist Mike Siddell.

The Leisure Society have collaborated and toured with artists including Ray Davies, Brian Eno, Laura Marling, Neil Hannon, Richard Thompson, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott.

Two tracks from The Sleeper, their 2009 debut album – The Last Of The Melting Snow and Save It For Someone Who Cares – were nominated for Ivor Novello Awards, drawing admiration from the likes of Brian Eno, Dermot O'Leary and Guy Garvey of Elbow.

The Leisure Society are one of the favourite indie rock/pop/folk bands of Grayshott Folk Club, where they last played on September 21, 2019.
