The free Spring Art Exhibition at The Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre in Bordon runs until May 3.

This second collaboration between Phoenix Arts and Whitehill Town Council is an amazing opportunity for local artists to showcase their work.

More than 100 pieces of work from 23 artists were submitted for inclusion. The selection panel of local artist Roger Russell, Phoenix Arts chief executive Rob Allerston and town councillor Linda Delve chose 52, including paintings, photographs and ceramics.

The exhibition was opened on April 6 by town mayor Cllr Leeroy Scott, whose work has previously been displayed at the Phoenix.

The Spring Art Exhibition follows Laurie Saxey’s solo exhibition, Tension and Harmony, which took place in January and February. The selection panel will also choose a handful of artists to work together on future solo exhibitions, giving a further platform for artists to sell their prints and develop a name for themselves.

Rob Allerston said: “As a former professional illustrator myself, I’m delighted we can finally encourage local artists to develop their art at the Phoenix.”
