THE former Surrey Police officer accused of killing his partner in their family home in West Street, Haslemere, has pleaded not guilty.
Peter Foster, 35 appeared in Lewes Crown Court on Monday, and was remanded in custody to face trial at the same court on Monday, June 11.
The body of Detective Constable Heather Cooper was found in woods at the nearby Haslemere National Trust beauty spot at Blackdown, near Lurgashall, in October.
The 33-year-old mother of two died after receiving a blow to the head and stab wound to the throat.
Meanwhile, almost 600 walkers scaled the 175 peaks in the middle of the night to light up the Lake District in Det Con Cooper's memory.
It was expected to swell the trust fund set up in her memory for her children to £100,000.
