MORE than 400 people dropped by for a charity coffee morning at Haslemere fire station.

In just over three hours, last Wednesday's event raised ?669 for the intensive care unit appeal at The Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford.

Dave Medley, one of the crew members at the West Street station, said: ?A massive thank you goes to all the people who attended for their generosity in supporting the event.

?And for all the cakes that were donated by the public, and the companies who donated prizes which we raffled on the day.

?Hokey Cokey donated a bouncy castle for the event which was loved by all the kids, and Costa and the Swan supplied the coffee for the event."

Some two dozen shops and businesses from the town supported the event and a mystery donor handed over a gift package.
