THE sun shone and Haslemere residents turned out in force for Remembrance Day, on Sunday.

After conducting the 10am service at St Bartholomew's Church, the Reverend Mary Bowden led the Remembrance Day parade to the High Street War Memorial followed by the mayor and consort, Royal British Legion members, town councillors, cadets and Scouts and representatives from a number of local organisations.

After the two-minute silence at 11am, Haslemere Mayor Cyndy Lancaster laid the first wreath on behalf of the town then read out the names of Haslemere's fallen servicemen commemorated on the memorial.
