A CHARITY golf day has raised more than £12,000 for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
Over 80 players attended the event, held at Oak Park Golf Club in Crondall, and all of them enjoyed playing 18 holes, a barbecue and live music in the evening.
It is the third time organisers Joe Castles and Martin Hayes have hosted the event, which also had a “buoyant raffle” and a “very successful – and expensive for some – auction”.
Joe said they had an “array of memorabilia” at this year’s auction, including signed Steven Gerrard football boots, a signed Crystal Palace football shirt and ball, a 2018 Ryder Cup flag signed by Thomas Bjorn, a signed England 2018 Euro squad shirt, a signed Ernie Els picture and hat, and more.
Joe added: “We were very lucky that a lot of local organisations helped sponsor the event, with our main sponsor being Heathlands Heating Services based in Crondall.”
