FIVE pillars of Grayshott have been rewarded for their vital contributions to village life.
The Grayshott Society’s ninth annual awards ceremony was held following its well attended 2018 AGM.
Society chairman Lady Haddon-Cave, who presented the awards to the successful nominees put forward by members, thanked Grayshott Pottery for donating the personally inscribed ceramic award plates and for hosting the ceremony.
Congratulating the winners, she said: “Anna and Andrew Figuel mounted a sterling campaign to draw everyone’s attention to the madness that was the proposal to put the telecoms mast up in the middle of the village.
“Our other award winners are the group who dreamt up and made Grayshott Bags – Mo Phillips, Sue Bampfield and Helen Deighan.
“They galvanized many around the village to take part in the exercise to provide as many reusable fabric bags as they could and then gave them away, so that they are now a common sight around the village.”
