HASLEMERE Station suffered major damage in a ram raid attack on its ATM machine in the early hours of Christmas Eve.

Thieves had stolen a JCB on hire to a Liphook firm earlier and used it to plough into the station, demolishing part of it.

British Transport Police and Surrey Police attended the scene of the incident together with Network Rail and South Western Railway representatives.
