DR Sian Jones has been appointed as the new clinical chairman of NHS Guildford and Waverley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

Dr Jones, a GP partner at Wonersh Surgery, has been a member of Guildford and Waverley Governing Body since April 2014 and currently responsible for cancer and end of life care.

Her other clinical interests are children’s and women’s health.

She has taken over from Dr David Eyre-Brook who stepped down after five years in the role at the end of March, having also been chairman for a year when the CCG was being set up.

Dr Jones said: “It is an honour to have been elected, and I look forward to leading the CCG through the opportunities that lie ahead, as well as responding to the challenges we also face.

“I will continue to work with my colleagues locally and across Surrey Heartlands to improve health outcomes for our patients and make a real difference to local health services.

“I am very grateful to my predecessor, Dr David Eyre-Brook for all his hard work, commitment and the support he has given the Governing Body since its inception in 2013.”
