THE snow left Haslemere and many surrounding villages badly affected by the heaviest fall for nearly two decades – with most people opting to stay at home, rather than chance a journey to work.
Those who had managed to leave their homes were unable to get far, with many roads on the Surrey side impassable on Monday.
