IMAGINE That Productions is bidding to bag a big cash boost from the Tesco community funding scheme.

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch Bags of Help, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores awarded to community projects.

Three groups in every Tesco region have been shortlisted to receive the cash award and shoppers are being invited to head along to Tesco stores to vote for who they think should take away the top grant.

Imagine That Productions is one of the groups on the Haslemere area shortlist.

The town group are funding a summer community production of Cole Porter’s Kiss Me Kate in Haslemere Hall. Director Philip O’Brien said: “This show is an instant success with every cast and audience and we’ll be using the fabulous talents of our local cast and crew.”

Voting is open in all Tesco stores in January and February and customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out each time they shop.
