MACMILLAN Haslemere and District’s annual summer lunch, now in its 10th year, was once again well attended by local ‘ladies who lunch’, raising more than £1,400.
More than 70 ladies sat down to a lunch prepared by the Macmillan cancer charity branch’s fundraising team followed by a talk from Alan Walsh.
Mr Walsh joined the British Airports Authority Constabulary at Heathrow in January 1968 and was the world’s first ever drug dog handler at an international airport.
He entertained with stories of an interest career with his drug dog, Rusty, how drug detection training is carried out with dogs and the successes they had over the years.
After lunch the ladies were treated to a little retail therapy with a selection of gift and plant stalls on offer.
