LOCAL talent is featured in The Museum Inspires Me, an exhibition by Pavillion Artists and invited friends, which opened this weekend
The exhibition at Haslemere Museum will display the artistic talent in the area as well as drawing inspiration from the museum’s collections interpreted through varying styles and medium.
The three members of Pavillion Artists, prize-winning artist Anne Bowen, award-winning photographer Peter Searight and talented ceramicist Jan Hite, have invited wildlife artist Leon Hills, ceramicist Terri Smart and sculptor Mark Swan to exhibit with them.
Mr Searight said: “The idea is to provide a flavour of the artistic talent in the area as well as drawing inspiration from the museum’s extensive collections of historical and natural world artefacts.
“The show and accompanying events are designed to appeal to all age groups, including an opportunity to meet the artists, children’s workshops and an evening talk aimed at those more comfortable holding a wine glass than a paint brush to support the Museum in a Million campaign.”
The exhibition continues until Saturday, August 27, and includes a sculpture trail.
