HASLEMERE man Martin Ripley is the latest victim to ‘Brave the Shave’ in the countrywide challenge to raise funds for cancer charity Macmillan.

He was joined by parishioners and friends of Our Lady of Lourdes who had gathered in the church hall to witness the action.

With barbershop choruses playing in the background, David Bartlett, from Cutting Edge hairdressers, applied his razor and Martin’s thick hair soon lay on the floor.

Macmillan nurse Sarah Mulliner attended and, thanks to sponsorship and generous gifts, the cancer charity will benefit from £2,300.

Martin and his wife Jodie thanked to all those who had contributed to the event including David Bartlett and the Hokey Cokey shop which provided balloons.
