CHILDREN at St Ives School, in Haslemere, celebrated Pancake Day, with a sponsored school breakfast in support of the charity Winston’s Wish, raising more than £100, on Tuesday.
Winston’s Wish help support bereaved children.
Every day, more than 100 children are bereaved of a parent in the UK.
The charity needs to raise £2.4million each year so they can continue to help as many of these children as possible.
The money they help raise will go towards services like their helpline, allowing them to answer around 13,000 calls a year from parents, teachers and health care professionals who need advice and guidance or just someone to speak to.
It is such a vital service and is often the first time the person has spoken to someone about their concerns for a bereaved child.
Elsewhere, the public’s appetite for pancake races seemed to have gone flat.
