It may be cold and wet outside, but spring will be here before we know it, bringing with it colourful flowers, beautiful sunshine and Phyllis Tuckwell’s 2024 Open Gardens event!

Open Gardens is all about sharing the beauty of your garden with others. Perhaps you have acres of picturesque countryside or a small cottage garden full of pots bursting with blooms.

Whatever size your garden, Phyllis Tuckwell would love for you to join its Open Gardens event and open it up for members of the public to browse around, to raise money for Hospice Care.

“We are once again on the search for unique and interesting gardens to swing open their garden gates to friends, family and our local community this spring and summer,” said Jenny Newman, community fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell.

“As well as being a great day out, all of the money raised will go directly towards helping fund the important care we provide for local patients and their families.”

Phyllis Tuckwell provides supportive and end of life care for local patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer or motor neurone disease.

Every day it supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers, but as the NHS/Government usually only covers about 20 per cent of its costs, it has to raise over £25,000 a day to do this.

If you have a garden that others would love to visit and admire, or maybe could even get together with your neighbours or local community to arrange a group opening, Phyllis Tuckwell would love to hear from you.
