A CHILDREN’S nursery could be the latest addition to a pavilion on a Haslemere housing estate if the plans for an extension of a community centre are given the go ahead.

The pavilion in Kilnfields, on the corner of Weycombe Road and edge of the recreation ground, could become home to a children’s nursery with a maximum of 30 children on site from 8am-4.30pm Monday to Friday.

The facility would be monitored by up to five staff who would be on site from 7am-4.30pm on the same days. Use of the community centre and recreation ground would continue.

The proposals comprise of four separate elements – two single-storey extensions, an increase of five parking spaces from 14-19; one space for a minibus; the installation of an electric charging point for greener vehicles and change of use to include the current community centre use and proposed nursery.
