STICK it to the man! The end-of-term production by pupils of St Mary's Primary School, Chiddingfold, was inspired by Jack Black's Hollywood comedy blockbuster School of Rock. Just like the film, it followed the story of Dewey Finn, a singer and rock guitarist who poses as a supply teacher to pay the rent when he gets kicked out of his band. The frustrated would-be rock star secretly turns his class into a new rock band that manages to storm the Battle of the Bands competition, before being found out. Sporting loud T-shirts and customised school uniforms, Chiddingfold pupils took to the stage for two performances of 'St Mary's School of Rock', in which year six students played the main characters, and the rest of the school staged their own mini-shows throughout. The school's parent teacher association also held their annual summer fundraising event, featuring rock-themed stalls and activities.
