BLOOMING Marvellous! Fernhurst residents banded together to plant more than 3,000 spring bulbs on Saturday.
Donations from Fernhurst Horticultural Society and the Revels Committee funded wild daffodils and multi-coloured crocus to naturalise in the grass verges.
Squires garden centre gifted a large sack of daffodils and sent one of its horticultural apprentices – Gemma Heslop – to help with the planting.
Louise Buchanan, Theresa Kennedy and John Bounds – organisers of the village’s annual bulb plant – were delighted by the large turnout.
Fernhurst Beavers and Cubs, plus a set of two-year-old twins, were among those who volunteered and enjoyed drinks and cakes at the Fernhurst Centre afterwards.
Mr Bounds said: “We are looking forward to seeing the effects of all our efforts as the bulbs establish themselves.”
