BIRDWORLD has been buzzing with activity as the park launched its 50 days of Summer Fun.

Extra activities have been taking place every weekday since Monday, July 16, and will continue until September 3.

From Monday, August 13, to Friday, August 17, Birdworld will be hosting a Minibeast Safari Week to raise awareness of the importance of invertebrate life in ecosystems and to encourage positive behaviour towards invertebrates.

Activities will include a variety of slithering and crawling critters, bug-themed arts and crafts, a creepy crawly activity trail and lots more.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Birdworld will be hosting entertainment sessions with performers from Chubby’s World of Magic or special entertainer Crazee Hazee.

Birdworld keepers will be holding Animal Extra talks on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which includes a session in the park’s Seashore Walk Exhibit and a fascinating talk about the park’s hornbills and toucans.

There is something for everyone at the park this summer, from magic acts to mind-blowing facts.

Mark Anderson, park general manager at Birdworld, said: “The summer is one of our favourite times at the park as there is so much happening in our 50th anniversary year!

“We’re very excited to welcome back our entertainers and look forward to enjoying these shows on the Safari Lawn with our visitors. The park’s keepers can’t wait to host Animal Extra talks to educate and entertain visitors of all ages about some of the fascinating and mysterious birds and animals that call Birdworld home.”
