Thirty-nine retirement homes and 100 new jobs are on the way to Liphook after a development plan by McCarthy Stone has been given the green light.

The homes will replace the former Allianz insurance offices which have been vacant for approximately two years.

Construction for the renovation of Ajax House and Plowden House, at 27 Haslemere Road, Liphook, GU30 7UN will begin early 2025. At its peak, there will be up to 100 construction operatives involved in bringing the development to life.

Once complete, it will offer a mix of up to 39  one and two-bedroom retirement apartments, for private sale and part-rent part-buy, and landscaped gardens and parking.

Nicki Beswarick, divisional marketing manager at McCarthy Stone, said: “We’re delighted to offer a greater choice of quality retirement living in Liphook. Our purpose-built, specialist homes allow people to make the most of their retirement, and to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible, with peace of mind that help is nearby.”
