POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two men were arrested after a street fight outside the Tesco store in Haslemere.

The fighthappened on Wey Hill around 12.15pm last Thursday.

PC Will Davies, the investigating officer, said: “When police arrived, two men were fighting in the street and vehicles had to move around them. It was a busy time of day and I am sure many people saw the altercation.

"I would urge anyone who saw what happened to contact officers. Surrey Police will not tolerate violence in its communities and works to keep the town safe and pleasant for residents and workers to enjoy.”

Two men were involved in the altercation and both were arrested on suspicion of affray. A 58 year-old man and a 31 year-old man, who are described as being "local", are due back on bail on October 29.
