CHESTNUT View care home resident Doris Willis has celebrated her 100th birthday.

Town mayor Sahran Abeysundara went along to the party held in her honour at the Haslemere care home on August 31 and presented her with flowers along with a card from the Queen.

Chestnut View’s activities manager Sharon Mitchell said: “Her family came to join in the celebrations in which her granddaughter made an amazing cake for everyone to enjoy.

“Doris claims her daily walks up until recently are the reason why she has made this amazing age!”
