Unlike their collection of steakhouses in Farnham and Alton, Serina is a drinks destination as much as a dining one.

The newly-opened wine bar hopes to reclaim the “bar that serves food” atmosphere, making it a go-to for every part of your evening.

Serina is hard to miss with its beautiful blue facade turning heads in The Borough. The interior is tastefully done with downstairs split between those wanting to drink and those wanting to eat, with the upstairs dedicated to dining. With exposed wooden beams, large windows and an impressive bar the restaurant is a mix of classic and modern style, but its food follows the Mediterranean trend.

The menu is a real catch with everything from calamari starters at £8 to more fish than the sea. There is something to satisfy everyone, whether looking for the classic carbonara at £17 or mussels at £18.

As a vegetarian I was impressed that I had choices, multiple. There were several delicious pasta dishes on offer, my personal choice the gnocchi at £17. I could even make my own dish with any combination of pasta and sauce.

As expected the wine and drinks list was extensive, and when asked what mocktails they could do, I was told “anything”.

Serina’s opening hours suit its bar outlook. It is open till 11.30pm Monday to Wednesday and to 12.30am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday has a slightly earlier close time of 10.30pm.
