ALDERSHOT & Farnham’s exhilarating hockey was worthy of the Hampshire Women’s League leaders and matched the sunny weather as lowly Alton were taken to the cleaners at Amery Hill.

Sara Nankivell soon scored from open play with an unerring shot into the far corner. Katrina Hellier quickly added a second and when Nankivell scored again to make it 3-0, A&F were well on their way.

Hellier and Di Taylor, the goal-machines, went on to score hat-tricks and other players notched up their first goals of the season, including Sammy Powell who showed a skilful touch to convert a rebound off the post, head-butting the woodwork in the process.

One of the stand-out goals came from ‘super sub’ Lauren Pestell whose reverse-stick effort was her first touch of the ball.

Hellier was named Player of the Match for her hatful of goals.
