FARNHAM Roller Hockey Club under-13s began 2018 with a trip to the Herne Bay U13 Tournament and an early start at 8.30am.
They began by losing to a strong and experienced Herne Bay team, despite some valiant work by goalminder Jackson Muir.
Farnham’s tackling was much improved against Invicta. Harry Ross scored a fine solo goal in the second half and there was some sharp passing by Leilani Petzer, Lucy Collis, George Morgan and Flora Fergie-Woods.
However, Invicta ran out 7-2 winners.
In their third game, Farnham went down fighting to Herne Bay United. The team-work was good and Lily Rose Chandler scored a deserved goal, but Farnham looked short on energy after the Christmas break.
