HORLEY TOWN 1, BADSHOT LEA 1

BADSHOT Lea picked up a valuable point at Horley Town on Saturday to preserve a six-point cushion between themselves and the bottom two in the Combined Counties Premier League.

Kerran Boylan broke the deadlock for Horley just before half-time, but the Baggies needed only five minutes of the second half to draw level. The scorer, predictably, was the prolific Benga Ogunseye.

Badshot Lea entertain Windsor at Ash United’s ground this Saturday. The Baggies will be out to make amends after a 6-0 thrashing at Stag Meadow in January.

Badshot Lea: Norris, Blackie, Goulter, Whiddett, Pilgrim, Frisby (May 68), Patterson, Borishade, Semule, Ogunseye, Everett.

* Badshot Lea will play their home games at Camberley Town’s Krooner Park next season after coming to an agreement with their fellow Combined Counties League club.

Work has started on Badshot Lea’s new ground at Wrecclesham where the Baggies hope to play their first senior matches in August 2018.

* Hartley Wintney retained the Combined Counties championship with a 0-0 draw at Chertsey on Saturday. The champions recovered from their celebrations to beat Windsor 2-1 on Tuesday.

With ground improvements in place, Hartley Wintney can now move up to Level 8 in the football pyramid.
