BADSHOT Lea continued their remarkable run on Tuesday night, chalking up a 12th consecutive victory in the Combined Counties League Division One as they crushed Bedfont & Feltham at Camberley’s Krooner Park.

The Baggies looked a little rusty after Saturday’s lay-off, but were still much too good for the relegation-threatened visitors.

It took just four minutes for Nick Thumwood to put Badshot Lea in front, but the prolific striker then got injured and made way for Brad Smith on 15 minutes.

Two goals in the last 10 minutes of the half settled the outcome. Zach Hawker doubled the lead and then the ever-reliable Smith gave the hosts a three-goal cushion at the interval.

Smith, thoroughly enjoying himself, went on to complete his hat-trick in the second half as Badshot Lea tuned up for potentially a much tougher test of their promotion credentials this Saturday.

Sheerwater, second in the table, are the visitors to Krooner Park. On Tuesday, Badshot Lea visit second-from-bottom Bagshot.

• Westfield stretched their lead at the top of the Premier Division to nine points with a 6-1 thrashing of AFC Hayes on Tuesday. The league leaders have now won 23 out of 26 matches.
