Aldershot Town 1, Lincoln City 2
A DEFLECTED goal 10 minutes from time ended Aldershot’s six-game unbeaten run after an entertaining Vanarama National League clash with Lincoln City at the EBB Stadium last night.
City, who were unceremoniously dumped out of the FA Cup at Whitehawk in an eight-goal thriller last Sunday, made amends on another lengthy trip south with a battling display to condemn The Shots to their eighth defeat of the season.
Debutant Dipo Akinyemi, on loan from League 2 side Stevenage, looked to have earned Aldershot a point when his header midway through the second half cancelled out Kyle Wootton’s scrambled opener for the visitors.
But Jack Muldoon had the last word as his 25-yard effort took a wicked deflection and wrong-footed Phil Smith in the Aldershot goal.
