Liss Athletic got their Hampshire Premier Football League Senior Division campaign off to a flying start with a resounding 7-0 victory against new boys Bishop’s Waltham Dynamos on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues didn’t let the unseasonal conditions dampen spirits for the curtain raiser at Newman Collard, and cantered into a 5-0 first-half lead.

Seamus Evans, Angus MacKay, Elliot Harrison (2) and Theo Glazier all netted in the first 45 minutes as the home side ran riot.

Harry Stanbridge came off the bench to add gloss with two of his own in the second half – a neat side-foot finish into the far corner was followed by a close-range header.

Liss are at home again on Saturday, when they will entertain last season’s Division One champions Infinity (3pm).
