Liss Athletic put in one of the performances of their season to send Locks Heath to defeat at Newman Collard on Saturday.

Mark Glazier’s side raced into a two-goal advantage inside the half-hour – Seamus Evans and Angus Mackay were on target to stun their high-riding visitors – with Mackay also striking the bar.

Locks Heath pulled one back six minutes into the second period, but Harry Stanbridge found the bottom corner just before the hour to give Mark Glazier’s side a two-goal cushion once more.

Theo Glazier nearly added a fourth with a lofted shot that came off the top of the bar, with the goalkeeper beaten.

It was a timely victory for the Blues, ending a run of four defeats, while gaining revenge for last month’s League Cup semi-final loss against Locks Heath.
